If I have to sum up the American (Unites States of) perspective in a few words, it would be these, 'Either yur fer us, or yur agin us'. (Either you are for us, or you are against us.) This applies to both foreign (other) and domestic (each other) affairs, and - to put it mildly - tends to limit debate. There you have it. What more can I say?
